IDENTIFYING THE KEY TECHNOLOGIES NEEDED TO DECARBONISE DIFFERENT SECTORS

  • Identifying the key technologies needed to decarbonise different sectors

At the end of 2019, Climate Strategy worked with and array of European institutions including E3G, the Jacques Delors Institute, and Transport & Environment to produce a set of two pagers identifying the key technologies needed to decarbonise different sectors of the EU economy.

These documents were launched during the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan), Helsinki in November 2019, where Mr. Sweatman was a speaker and presented the Climate Strategy report titled “Funding Innovation to Deliver EU Competitive Climate Leadership”

Sectors assessed:

  • Transport
  • Industry
  • Buildings
  • Energy
  • Agriculture

In addition, these two pagers were distributed among members of the European Parliament –followed by meetings with Mr. Sweatman- as part of a communications campaign to address the relevance of investment in innovation within the context of the EU Green Deal, and how to maximise the impact of EU public funds in their various varieties.
